i am now a huge fan of amy sedaris, not for her acting roles, but for her boldness in transforming herself, her hilarious book-writing, and, what I relate to the most, her love of collecting vintage kitschy and odd items. these peeks inside her new york apartment completely made me smile ("I decorate as if I owned a child")- I could definitely see myself living inside those walls.

  i love getting a peek at studio spaces of creative folks. when they have a fantastic space it makes me think, “no wonder they’re always creating goodness, they’re surrounded by beauty.” i, on the other hand, am surrounded by ugly blinds, off white and clutter. i need to surround myself with beauty more often. i think only good could come from it.

  i loved the glass bottle packaging of these candies from Selfridges and thought the idea would be perfect for a party favor. you can simply repurposed some frappuccino bottles, spray painted the lids, and used some stickers from the martha stewart line as labels. just be aware, if you buy the candy too far ahead of time, don’t open the package. you’ll find yourself having to strategically reposition the candy so the bottles look full. :)

watermelon.deliciousness

Watermelon Shake

Watermelon, cubed
Cold Water
Lime juice
Sweetener (Sugar, Agave Syrup, Honey, Splenda etc)
Salt
Use about a  4:1 ratio of watermelon to water. Pulse in a blender and taste. If its too watery, add more watermelon or add water if mixture seems too stiff. Add a small pinch of salt and season with lime juice and sweetener to taste. Enjoy!

limeade.recipe

Limeade

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 cup (freshly squeezed) lime juice

1 quart seltzer water

Directions

Combine water and sugar in saucepan, stirring shortly until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.

Transfer to pitcher to cool.

Pour lime juice and seltzer water over sugar water.

Serve with ice and fresh lime slices.

Enjoy!
