So your have a great hair and makeup day
everything is going on smoothly, your skin feels fab
no zits, eyelashes look good, no mascara clumps
Your hair is smooth and shiny
and then...
you undress from your pj's
you get ready to put on your clothes
and something
devastating happens
YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR
enough said
It's time to take out the boxing gloves
cause it's round one
you vs. your body
it's on like Donkey Cong
wait a minute
TIMEOUT!
So you mean to tell me you are going to go up against your body that:
-can walk miles a day to get us where we need to go
-uses its eyes to see others and the amazing world we live in
-has skin to protect us from harmful germs that might make us sick
-can use touch to caress or soothe a loved one. can also express love for others without words
-can think, when problems arise you can analyze problems and come up with solutions
-procreate and bring new life into this world (one of the most amazing, I think)
-can feel and experience a whole range of emotions, including happiness, sadness and surprise
So why is it that we verbally abuse ourselves?
We are amazing
Women! Our bodies are amazing
We need to concentrate on what our bodies can do for us
and less what "we think" our bodies should look like
I for one am trying to make healthier choices
However, NO DIETING
I do not believe in them
They are an absolute waste of time
If you would like to learn more about healthy eating habits
I suggest you try reading this book:
It's AWESOME!
I got this book from a fantastic nutritionist
For more information on this book and its authors go to
It totally changed my outlook on dieting and how to have a better relationship with food
One of my favorite principals from these two authors and nutritionists is:
"Respect Your Body Accept your genetic blueprint. Just
as a person with a shoe size of eight would not expect to realistically
squeeze into a size six, it is equally as futile (and uncomfortable) to
have the same expectation with body size."
